The Louisiana Wildlife Rehabilitators Association provides a support network to our member rehabilitators:
- Funding. We provide unrestricted grants to member-rehabilitators to help build their facilities, care for the wild animals placed into their care and sometime simply keep the lights on. Rehabilitators receive little to no government or public funds and many pay for expenses out of their own pocket. LAWRA itself maintains no paid staff and all funding goes into our programs and policies, including our grants program, supporting Louisiana's wildlife rehabilitators.
- Rehabber-to-Rehabber Guidance. Our online community the "Wildlife Group" on Facebook provides a non-threatening forum to discuss wildlife rehabilitation techniques and tricks with experienced permitted rehabilitators away from the public's eyes.
- Policy. LAWRA is actively involved in the development of policies and procedures affecting both wildlife rehabilitation and wildlife in the State of Louisiana.
