The Louisiana Wildlife Rehabilitators Association always has volunteer opportunities available for our members and supporters. Not all positions require experience. Many of our volunteers simply want to support Louisiana's wildlife in any way they can and have found our volunteer positions to be a perfect fit with their schedule.
Currently we have the following volunteer positions available and open to our membership:
Wildlife Rehabilitation Programs:
- North Louisiana Wildlife Rehabilitator Representative (1): In this position you are responsible for organizing training classes for local wildlife rehabilitators and attending area events to support the Association's mission and goals.
- Central Louisiana Wildlife Rehabilitator Representative (1): In this position you are responsible for organizing training classes for local wildlife rehabilitators and attending area events to support the Association's mission and goals.

Field Conservation Programs:
Conservation Associate (2): This is a professional-level volunteer position suitable for a professional biologist or someone with a background and training in wildlife management. Duties include developing materials and providing training and phone consultation with the public and news media in wildlife conflict management. Duties may also include providing technical assistance, within your area of training, in wildlife protection efforts.
Governmental Relations Associate (2): This is a semi-professional level position that would fit someone with a background in political science and/or wildlife protection. This volunteer is responsible for working on a state and local level to develop, support and oppose legislation centering around wildlife and wildlife protection.
Staff Volunteer Positions
Conservation Law Associate (2): This professional-level position is responsible for working with the field conservation associates to determine when and if legal action is needed to protect wildlife and/or their habitats in specific circumstances.
Communications Associate (2): This semi-skilled position is for a public relations professional interested in promoting our wildlife protection and rehabilitation efforts in tv, print, radio and social media. This position requires the volunteer to continue to update and maintain our database of professional news media contacts and periodically compose and place press releases with the media. This position may also involve limited in-person interviews with news media organizations representing the interests of our organization.
