Louisiana's Wildlife Rehabilitators are an extremely busy group of people. This is a job for them and they make no income from performing the day to day rescue and rehabilitation work Wildlife Rehabilitation requires.
We strongly encourage you to work with the Wildlife Rehabilitator prior to applying for a Wildlife Rehabilitation permit. A six month to a year internship is the recommended time frame. This period will vary based on the Rehabilitator's preferences and requirements.
